Army Chief General Bikram Singh Tuesday called upon the cadets of the Armed Forces Medical College to become soldier doctors and understand the men and women to whom they provide their medical services. Singh was speaking on Leadership challenges: Making a difference at the Dhanwantri Hall of the AFMC.
He said the foundation of leadership is built on the core values of integrity,loyalty,duty,respect,selfless service,courage and interpersonal skills. He talked about the non-negotiable commitment to the nation which the men and women in uniform need to have.
He then visited Command Hospital,Pune,where he took a look at the radiotherapy centre,dialysis centre and the acute medicine ward. He interacted with officials of these departments and met the patients undergoing treatment there.
Lt Gen Ashok Singh,GOC-in-C,Southern Command,briefed Singh on operational issues and also the recent developmental endeavours undertaken. Singh expressed confidence at the preparedness of the command and said it well-poised and equipped to overcome all challenges both during peace and in war.
