Essential Reforms to Make a Better Indian Army ,a book that includes 26 suggestions for better functioning of the Indian Armed Forces, was released on Tuesday by the Maharashtra Military Foundation (MMF).
As many as 200 copies of the 88-page book will be circulated amongst Armed Forces personnel along with members of the parliament, said a press note. The book throws light on various aspects related to the triservices of the Indian Armed Forces.
The objective motive is to make available a platform that can put forth these suggestions to people who are decision makers, said Col Chitale of MMF. The book handles some sensitive issues related to the Indian Armed Forces such as the Tibet issue, concerns surrounding Article 370 and so on.
Without taking any names,we have tried to point out the concerns, filtering which is the need of time. For instance, taking a first stand on the Tibet issue is important from the point of view of Indias safety. We have suggested that revoking Article 370 is important, added Chitale.
The MMF is hoping that the book will trigger discussions amongst the decision-makers in the country, thus bringing about the much needed reforms in the Indian Armed Forces. Based on the requirement,we will print more copies of the book, he said.
