Car crash: 15-yr-old at wheel,1 dead

A Class X student died on the spot and two of his classmates were injured after the car.

A Class X student died on the spot and two of his classmates were injured after the car,which one of them was reportedly driving,met with an accident on Sunday morning near CIRT,at Bhosari on the Pune-Nashik Road. The car broke the divider,went to the other side,collided with a truck and overturned.

The impact threw the three out of the car. The truck driver and a pedestrian were also injured.

Shubham Thopte (15) of Gavhane Vasti in Bhosari died in the mishap. Swapnil Dhawale (15) of Landge Aali in Bhosari and Onkar Landge (15),also from Bhosari,were injured. The three had started from Bhosari in Swapnil’s family car for attending a revision coaching class and the mishap took place near Nashik Phata. They had reportedly asked the driver that they would drive themselves. The driver had apparently returned home.

Sudhir Aspat,senior police inspector with Bhosari police station said the accident took place when one of the three students who was at the wheel — it has not yet been ascertained as to who was driving — lost control of the car,which went to the other side after breaking the divider, collided with a truck coming from the opposite direction and turned turtle.

“We are yet to find out who exactly was driving the car as the three were thrown out of the car. The two injured are yet to speak to us.” Shubham who died on the spot had severe injuries on the head and other parts of the body. The truck driver,Sopan Jamadar and a pedestrian,Ibrahim Shaikh,were injured PSI Seema Surve of Bhosari police station is investigating the matter. Shubham’s father runs a workshop in MIDC area in Bhosari.
