R R Patil on Thursday said Pune police were trying their best despite manpower shortage.

Days after Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar slammed city Police Commissioner Meeran Borwankar for failing to tackle law and order situation during civic elections,Home Minister R R Patil on Thursday said Pune police were trying their best despite manpower shortage.

Patil was in Pune for the inauguration of a shop. He also met Borwankar and other senior police officers and Shahaji Solukhe, superintendent of Pune rural police at the circuit house in evening.
