Deccan Tennis C’ship: Aneesh,Siddharth,Mohana and Riya make hosts proud

Deccan Gymkhana’s Aneesh Patankar,Siddharth Joshi,Mohana Nanavare and Riya Joshi made their club proud by winning easy encounters in the Under-14 boys and girls Deccan Tennis Championship 2012 at their home courts on Sunday.

Among the four Deccan winners,Aneesh had the easiest day out as he won 6-0 against Om Waghere to advance into the third round of the boy’s section. Similarly,Siddharth dropped a game before showing PYC Gymkhana’s Kapeesh Khandge the door by winning 6-1.

In the girls section,both Mohana and Riya were up against opponents from their own club. Mohana relatively had an easy outing,beating Khusboo Mundada by 6-1 while Riya faced some resistance before prevailing over Samruddhi Ghumane 6-4. On the third day of the championship as many as six players made their exit.
