Eknath Shinde rushes to meet Amit Shah, Ajit says ‘ties are good’ with DCM

Even as Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Mumbai on Sunday apparently to raise his grievances, Ajit Pawar, the other Deputy Chief Minister, rejected the contention that Shinde complained against him to the BJP leader. Similarly Shinde too denied that there was any rift between them.

short article insert “There is no discord between us. Everything is fine,” Shinde said after meeting Shah. On the other hand, Ajit Pawar too spoke on similar lines, suggesting that Shinde would speak to him instead of complain to Shah.

Shinde said if there was any issues, they would resolve it through discussions. ”We believe in working for the people. We don’t keep listing our grievances. If there is anything, we will resolve it through discussions.

Shinde said he met Amit Shah as the Home Minister was the key leader of Mahayuti. ”Amit Shah is the leader of our alliance. He was in Raigad to attend an event and also attended an event in Mumbai. And since he is our leader, we naturally met,” he said.

Shinde said during the meeting, he briefed the Home Minister about the ongoing development projects in the state.

When asked whether Shinde complained to Shah about the non-clearance of files by him, Ajit Pawar said, “Amit Shah has not asked me anything. Don’t go by what sources say. If Shinde had to say anything, then I don’t think he would complain to Shah. He will either tell Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis or me. Our relations are good.”

The Shinde-led Sena and Ajit Pawar led-NCP are at loggerheads over the appointment of guardian ministers for Nashik and Raigad districts. The Sena is also apparently upset with Ajit Pawar for not clearing some of the files of its ministers. Ajit Pawar holds the finance portfolio. ”Shinde is not just upset with NCP, but he also has issues with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis who has reversed or stayed some of the decisions taken by him during his tenure as the chief minister,” a BJP leader said.

However, BJP leader Sudhir Mungantiwar refuted the speculations that Shinde was upset. ”I don’t think Eknath Shinde would have raised complaints with Amit Shah. Instead, he would directly speak to Ajit Pawar if he had to make a complaint… Eknath Shinde is a good leader.”

Shah, who was on a two-day visit to the state, left for New Delhi in the morning. In a surprise move, Shinde held discussions with Shah at the Sahyadri Guest House in Mumbai for an hour. Sources said the Shiv Sena chief complained to Shah that Pawar was not clearing government files.

Sources said Shinde also met Shah during an event held at the Raigad Fort to mark the 345th death anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

Asked about the guardian ministership of Raigad district, the deputy chief minister said, “Don’t worry, the issue will be resolved soon. When we find a solution, we will let you know.”

At the Raigad Fort event, Ajit Pawar did not get a chance to address the crowd. “Since it was getting late, I told the chief minister and Amit Shah to address the crowd,” the NCP leader later said.

For the first 16 years, he worked on the desk, edited stories, made pages, wrote special stories and handled The Indian Express edition. In 31 years of his career, he has regularly written stories on a range of topics, primarily on civic issues like state of roads, choked drains, garbage problems, inadequate transport facilities and the like. He has also written aggressively on local gondaism. He has primarily written civic stories from Pimpri-Chinchwad, Khadki, Maval and some parts of Pune. He has also covered stories from Kolhapur, Satara, Solapur, Sangli, Ahmednagar and Latur. He has had maximum impact stories from Pimpri-Chinchwad industrial city which he has covered extensively for the last three decades.   Manoj More has written over 20,000 stories. 10,000 of which are byline stories. Most of the stories pertain to civic issues and political ones. The biggest achievement of his career is getting a nearly two kilometre road done on Pune-Mumbai highway in Khadki in 2006. He wrote stories on the state of roads since 1997. In 10 years, nearly 200 two-wheeler riders had died in accidents due to the pathetic state of the road. The local cantonment board could not get the road redone as it lacked funds. The then PMC commissioner Pravin Pardeshi took the initiative, went out of his way and made the Khadki road by spending Rs 23 crore from JNNURM Funds. In the next 10 years after the road was made by the PMC, less than 10 citizens had died, effectively saving more than 100 lives. Manoj More's campaign against tree cutting on Pune-Mumbai highway in 1999 and Pune-Nashik highway in 2004 saved 2000 trees. During Covid, over 50 doctors were  asked to pay Rs 30 lakh each for getting a job with PCMC. The PCMC administration alerted Manoj More who did a story on the subject, asking then corporators how much money they demanded....The story worked as doctors got the job without paying a single paisa. Manoj More has also covered the "Latur drought" situation in 2015 when a "Latur water train" created quite a buzz in Maharashtra. He also covered the Malin tragedy where over 150 villagers had died.     Manoj More is on Facebook with 4.9k followers (Manoj More), on twitter manojmore91982 ... Read More
