Facilitation centres go online

To counter long queues at Citizen’s Facilitation Centre, the district administration has decided to make forms available online from this week for all kinds of certificates.

70 of 526 CFCs will be in Pune city, the remaining will be in rural areas

To counter long queues at Citizen’s Facilitation Centre (CFC),the district administration has decided to make forms available online from this week for all kinds of certificates. Now,people can download the form, fill it up and attach necessary documents before submission.

“Whether it is an application form for caste certificate,non-creamy layer, income generation, domicile or even affidavit, the forms can be downloaded from www.pune.nic.in. All forms are available on the website along with detailed information on the necessary documents required,” said Pune sub-divisional officer Jayashree Katare who is also the in-charge of the Citizen’s Facilitation Centre at the collectorate.

In spite of the four centres at collectorate,Shivajinagar godown,Pimpri-Chinchwad area and Yerwada, one can visit the website, download the forms and fill it up. Katare said there are long queues for just collecting the forms and it would take an hour for an individual to collect the form and fill it before submission. “The new system would help in saving time for people and officials,” she added.

Earlier during admissions, the district administration had arranged facilities to reach out to colleges to collect forms. In the e-district project, the district administration plans to open around 526 CFCs in the city and rural areas. This facility is also available at Latur,Nanded,Nagpur and Sindhudurg.

While 70 of the 526 CFCs will be opened in Pune city, the remaining will be in rural areas of the district. Once the CFCs become operational, people from rural areas will be able to get the required documents from the nearest CFC instead of travelling to the four centres. The online facility is a step towards this process, said a senior district administration official.

The administration also plans to have all these centres well-connected to the main server at the district headquarters and there would be nearly 25 documents, including birth and death certificates,7/12 extracts and certificates for income and caste at these CFCs. The basic infrastructure will be made available in few months.
