R P Nene Memorial Committee invites articles for publication
The Academy of Political and Social Studies has invited articles of not more than 1,000 words to put together a volume on senior Marxist scholar and activist Comrade Late R P Nenes contributions to various social and political movements. The article should be sent by end of July 2010. The Academy has also invited photographs,articles written by Nene or any other material that may be useful for the publication of the volume. Contributions will be accepted in English,Marathi and Hindi and will be used in their original language. The material will be edited into a volume that will serve as an inspiration to future generations,said a press note from the Academy. MTS scorers to be felicitated
AROUND 35 students who secured first three ranks in various categories of Maharashtra Talent Search (MTS) examination held on April 25 will be felicitated and total of 8,878 students from class VIII,IX and X will be awarded scholarships of Rs 20 lakh on July 11 at Wadia College. Former director general of police Arvind Inamdar and former vice-chancellor of Marathwada Ambedkar University Nagnath Kotapalle will hand over the prizes.
COMMISSIONER of Durg Municipal Corporation, Chhattisgarh,Sundar Mani visited the solid waste management projects of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC).
PMC deputy commissioner,Suresh Jagtap briefed him about the developments on waste management of the city.
Mani visited the biogas plant at the Katraj garbage ramp,plastic recycling project,vermi composting project as well as Peshwe biogas and was given technical information.
SSC exam: Anglo-Urdu schools score 100% results
Anglo-Urdu Boys High School and Anglo-Urdu Girls High School scored 100 per cent results in the SSC class X exam held in March 2010.
Khansa Rafique Bagwan stood first in Girls High School with 97.45 per cent,while Shaikh Mohammad Ibrahim Iftiyak Hussain stood first in Anglo-Urdu Boys High School.
