KCB to invite fresh bids for setting up CCTVs,to relax conditions

KCB executive engineer Arun G Godbole said the CCTVs are to be installed at places identified by the police.

“The police has given us the list of places to be covered by CCTVs. They have to be set up at Khadki bazar and other places,” he said.

Godbole said since the board received only two bids either of them could not be cleared owing to audit objections. “ Too give a green signal to the initiative we need at least three parties responding to our proposal,” he said.

Godbole added that the board cannot set up the CCTVs on its own as it does not have the expertise to install them. Recently,during the Ganesh Festival the board had hired an agency to set up CCTVs but their service was discontinued. “We have decided to invite fresh bids and in case the requisite number of private parties do not come forward,the board will take a final decision on the matter,” he added.

Elected members of cantonment board said they are pressing to set up CCTVs owing to security issues. “Police have advised the board to set up CCTVs and it cannot be ignored,” said Sunil Jadhav,the cantonment board member.
