Even though the wireless voice (land line phones) continues to occupy major chunk of telecommunication market,of late this segment has started witnessing a degrowth of 1-2 per cent
each year.
Prateek Pashine,president of the small and medium enterprises (SME) sector of Tata Teleservices,said that wireless data market has been increasing in the past few years.
Addressing the media in the city on Wednesday,Pashine said the wireless data market has seen a growth of 16 per cent in the past year or so.
This market is picking up as this is both easy and reliable for end consumers, he said.
With more than 10 lakh SMEs in the country,the telecommunication market of SME is touted to be as large as Rs 10,5000 crore. To capture the market the company has churned out special schemes including life cycle management for customers. According to Pashine,30-40 cities in the country are the hub of SMEs. In the state,Pune,Nashik,Aurangabad,Nagpur are the hubs SMEs.
