DJ Ashley Wallbridge set the pace for Sunday night with the best of electronica straight from the UK charts
After touring Ahmedabad,Delhi and Kolkata,UKs DJ Ashley Wallbridges next stop was Pune. He took over the console at Stone Water Grill on Sunday evening to give the Sunset Party his signature electronica tunes. The 22-year-old DJ has over 50 titles, originals and remixes,to his credit with ‘My Blood’ and ‘Faces’ dominating the download charts for weeks.
India is readily exploring new sounds. When I was here in 2008,the electronic music scene wasn’t as massive as it is now, says Wallbridge, who plays fusion, electronic, house, progressive and electro. Electro music is very predictable, particular sounds and styles where you can innovate with certain limitations. Electronica, however, has no boundaries, you never know what sounds you might here and there is no limit to the innovation you can do in this form, says the music man.
Wallbridge will be launching his album, presently untitled,in the summer of 2012. Hes hoping it will make India groove too. I love playing in Delhi, he says,The people there know their music and party like there’s no tomorrow. Ahmedabad and Chandigarh are new on the partying circuit. I was the first international DJ to play in Ahmedabad! says Wallbridge who is from the Midlands of England in the Stroke of Trent.
Having ranked 15 in the DJ Mag Top 100 competition last year,Wallbridge is again participating in the competition with his eye on the first spot. In the competition, people vote for their favourite DJ. I am touring all over the world so I can entertain people with my music and make a place for my music in their hearts, says Wallbridge, hoping his Facebook page or website will garner enough votes to make him a winner.
