Kids today addicted to video gamesMayor Yogesh Behl has advised parents and schools to encourage students to take up outdoor games and also develop the reading habit. The physical and mental growth of students is getting stifled because of increasing addiction to television and video games. Schools and parents should work towards developing personality of students, Behl said at a prize distribution function organised during the annual social function of Pratibha International School Chinchwad. The mayor said parents should take into consideration child's areas of interest and should not pressurise the child into fulfilling their dreams. PCMC to act against religious places on government landPCMC has also started a survey of locating religious places on civic and government land. This is as per the directives of the Supreme Court issued to the state government. The SC had directed that these religious structures should be removed. However, some civic officials and even corporators belonging to the ruling parties say the illegal structures might not be removed in this election year. Though the civic body has started a survey for collecting details of around 180 religious places which were built on civic or government land,it will take its own time to remove them as they are bound to face opposition from corporators in the crucial election year, said officials.
