The All India LPG Distributors Federation has announced that only three subsidised cylinders will be given to consumers in the rest of this fiscal and the fourth cylinder will cost Rs 794.50 in PMC limits and Rs 800.50 in Pimpri-Chinchwad. After a meeting on Wednesday, the Federation stated that cost for those exempted from subsidy will be Rs 900 in PMC and Rs 1,001 in PCMC limits. The present subsidised rate is Rs 421.50. Usha Poonawalla, president of All India LPG Distributors Federation,Maharashtra, said they got the rates from oil companies. The Federation said cylinders will not be home delivered from October 1 in protest against the government decision to restrict subsidised gas to 6 cylinders per household a year,as the multiple rate policy was tough to manage.
