PMC busts job racket

The Pune Municipal Corporation’s security department on Wednesday exposed a racket that cheated citizens for giving jobs in the civic body.

Municipal Commissioner Mahesh Zagade said the civic security department recieved a complaint that job was being offered in PMC in return of money.

“A trap was laid to nab the person offering job in PMC. It was found that six more people were involved in it and all of them have been handed over to the police,” he said adding it was found that those nabbed person were giving fake appointment letter of PMC to the citizens paying cash for getting job in civic body.

Zagade appealed citizens to not to fall prey to such offers saying the recruitment process of PMC starts with advertisement. “The recruitment is done through written test and interview. There cannot be any direct recruitment,” he said.
