Prize-wise

The annual speech day and the prize distribution ceremony of Bishop’s Cotton School in Undri for 2010-2011,was held on July 16 at the Bishop’s School campus,Camp. The chief guests for the junior and senior school events were Sujata Mallick Kumar,principal of St. Mary’s School,and Brian Robbins,principal of St. Peter’s School,Mumbai,respectively. The outstanding students were rewarded by the chief guests. The prestigious Freese Trophy went to the meritorious duo of Ravikiran Kawade and Anmola Agarwal. Th Dhruv Sanklecha Shining Star Trophy was awarded to little Pranav Dorage from the nursery section.

Day of kindness

To celebrate the auspicious occasion of Guru Poornima,the students of Marathwada Mitra Mandal’s College of Commerce visited ‘Matoshree’,an old age home near Karve Nagar earlier this week. The visit was organised by the Vocational Training Wing students of the college. The senior citizens at the home thoroughly enjoyed such the interaction with the youngsters,who spent quality time learning about the experiences of the residents. The students also distributed books,note-books and sweetmeats to underprivileged children.
