(Express Photo by Arul Horizon)Thursday was one of the hottest days in Pune as the IMD’s Shivajinagar central weather observatory recorded a maximum temperature of 41 degrees Celsius–the season’s highest so far.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), most parts of Pune recorded well above 40 degrees Celsius on Thursday. Weather stations in Koregaon Park, Wadgaon Sheri and Hadapsar recorded 43, 43.1 and 43.5 degrees respectively. Even Pashan, which reports lower temperature than Shivajinagar, recorded 41 degrees Celsius.

Kashyapi said temperatures are going to drop marginally due to the presence of the western disturbance over the northern part of the country. The cold moisture carrying winds can bring some relief to Pune and other parts of central India.
Due to the presence of humidity from the Bay of Bengal as well as Arabian Sea, Pune at present is experiencing hot and humid conditions.
