A student of Frankfinn Institute of Air Hostess Training in Chinchwad has filed an FIR against the institute, alleging that the institute has issued an invalid course certificate to him.
Frankfinn Institute on Friday said in a statement that Bhatias complaint was baseless. The institute has enclosed the correspondence from Edexcel,UK,saying that BTEC HNC and BTEC i HNC is same as i stands for international. Also it is mentioned that certificate given to Bhatia has been issued by Edexcel UK.
However,Bhatias father Harish said he had contacted the customer service of Edexcel,UK,the issuing body of BTEC certificates, through email. Harish said his son lodged the police complaint only after the Edexcel Customer Services replied that there was no BTEC i and the qualification is simply BTEC.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Prabhakar Patil said they have registered an FIR in the case and were awaiting a reply from London office of Edexcel. We want to know what does the word i mean. Though Delhi office told us it stands for international, he said. Patil said the police had opposed the anticipatory bail plea by the Frankfinn authorities. The bail plea has been rejected by the sessions court, he said, adding that the authorities of Frankfinn have been booked under Section 420 of IPC.
Bhatia also complained that the institute did not deliver on its claim to provide job assistance. We provide good job assistance though we cant place anyone. Many of our students have got good placements, said Arun Kumar,V-P,Frankfinn Institute.
