Expressing concern over the continuing unrest in Manipur, NCP (SP) working president Supriya Sule on Tuesday thanked RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat for being sensitive and raising the Manipur issue.
“I welcome from the bottom of my heart the statement made by RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat about the unrest in Manipur. I thank him for being sensitive on the issue and raising it in one of his organisational meetings. It has been very painful and the Union government has been insensitive over it,” Sule said, reacting to the RSS chief’s concern on unrest in Manipur.
She said Manipur is an integral part of India and it is painful to see our people suffering. “For the past 18 months, the opposition has been asking for a discussion on it. We have raised the issue over 100 times in the Parliament. The issue should be resolved together, and the residents of Manipur should be given confidence,” Sule said, adding the Union government should think that something is seriously wrong in its handling of the issue if the unrest continues.

The NCP (SP) MP from Baramati said the terrorist attack in Jammu was also shocking. “There was a terrorist attack in Jammu when the oath-taking ceremony of the newly constituted NDA government at the Centre was going on in Delhi,” she said, adding that the government would be asked to make a statement on the terrorist attack.
Sule also welcomed the Supreme Court directions on the case filed on NEET and blamed the Union government for the chaos. “The Union government is responsible for the chaos of NEET. I am glad the Supreme Court has taken cognizance of it,” she said.
The Supreme Court on Tuesday issued notice to the Centre and National Testing Agency (NTA) on a plea seeking to cancel the NEET-UG 2024 exams over allegation of leak of question papers. The court said that “sanctity has been affected” and “we need answers” but it refused to stay the counselling process for admission of those who have cleared the exam.
