Tight security for Modi visit on Nov 1

A team from Gujarat police has come to Pune.

In the backdrop of serial blasts at Narendra Modi’s Patna rally,two officers from Gujarat police and teams from Pune police have reviewed the security arrangements for his visit on November 1. Gujarat Chief Minister is scheduled to attend public functions at Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital and Garware College.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (special branch) M B Tambade said,“On Monday,we reviewed security arrangements at places to be visited by Modi. A team from Gujarat police has come to Pune. After the blasts in Patna,we have carried out rigorous checks at all places.”

Tambade added,“We have met organisers from both venues. Fixed point bandobast has been deployed. Bomb detection and disposal squad and quick response teams have been kept on stand by.” Joint Commissioner Sanjivkumar Singhal has also taken stock of the security.
