After the Actionline report last Sunday on problems faced by residents of Pune Camp including floor space index (FSI) restrictions and water contamination, cantonment board member Manzoor Nazir Shaikh is planning to take up the issue in the board meeting on Monday. Shaikh said he will bring the plight of residents to the notice of the cantonment board in the meeting. The board member added that he had earlier moved the proposal to the board asking for an increase in FSI of schools on the pattern of the Khadki Cantonment Board (KCB). He said the proposal was rejected by the board. He said that in Mondays meeting,he would again seek an increase in FSI of old and new residential accommodation. The PCB member said that since illegal encroachments have only increased with hotels and restaurants converting parking space for commercial use,he will discuss the matter in the board meeting in view of preparations for framing of the new zonal plan.
