The prosecution said that the incident came to light after the girl’s uncle saw her with the accused at a lodge on December 6.

The girl later registered a complaint of abduction and rape against the youth. Shah examined six witnesses and relied on the victim’s evidence for proving the guilt of the accused.

The prosecution produced her birth certificate to prove the girl was a minor and argued for maximum punishment for Jayant as the consent given by her for physical relationship was not valid as she was a minor.
