Delhi Confidential: Birthday Musical

Adding a cultural dimension to events commemorating Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday (September 17), the BJP is learnt to have scheduled a musical event in Delhi, roping in poet and lyricist Manoj Muntashir Shukla to narrate the PM’s journey from a young social worker to enter country’s highest office. The event will be one of the many aligned across several cities to mark the occasion.

Open House

Newly appointed Delhi Police Commissioner Satish Golcha has decided to hold ‘Open House’ on alternate Saturdays to address the grievances of the personnel. Police personnel desiring to attend the event will have to submit a request with the police headquarters or through email. The practice was first started in 2021 by then Police Commissioner Rakesh Asthana, but it was stopped once he retired from the service.

Donation Nudge

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has asked all state governments to rope in voluntary organisations such as the Indian Red Cross Society and the Akhil Bhartiya Terapanth Yuvak Parishad to encourage participation on the National Voluntary Blood Donation Day (October 1). The ministry has also nudged the states to utilise the annual ‘Seva Pakhwada’ — September 17 to October 2 — in the right earnest for social service and public welfare initiatives.
