DU admissions 2016: First cut-off list to be released today

The Delhi University will release the first cut-off list online today by midnight. Over 2.50 lakh students have applied for admission to various undergraduate course of Delhi University.

This year, there has been a dip of almost 70,00 applications (last year it was 3.2 lakh) probably due to the University’s admission process completely going online.

The admissions will commence from June 30, that is, tomorrow. To check the cut-off lists, the students need to log in to the admission portal.

The candidates have to take a printout of the completed form from the official website, along with the listed documents and self-attested copies and visit the designated college on any of the three days of admission.

Around 24 colleges have given 1% concession to girls in some of the courses.

The fifth cut-off will be declared on July 20.

On the last date, 2,50,220 applicants had completed the registration process, which included 1,29,910 male, 1,20,295 female and 15 others category candidates.

BA (honours) English course has received maximum number of applications (1,15,786) followed by BA programme with over 98,000 applications and BA (honours) Political Science too crossing the 90,000 mark.

Region-wise, DU received nearly 50 per cent of the total applicants from Delhi, while Uttar Pradesh is in second spot with 50,246 applicants followed by Haryana with a little over 21,000 applicants.
