AHSEC Assam Board HS 12th Result 2020 LIVE Updates: Sivasagar emerges as best performing district

Commerce stream students had the best passing percentage of 87.59 in 2019 followed by Science where the passing percentage was 86.59 and Arts had the least passing percentage at 75.14. [READ MORE] 

Assam's Baksa district also performed incredibly well in the AHSEC exams, recording 85.36 pasing percent in Arts stream, Baksa 92.56 in Commerce stream and 95.44 in Science stream.   

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal wished the students luck for their future and acknowledged the efforts put in by the parents and teachers in helping the students perform well in the board exams. [READ MORE]

The AHSEC results were declared earlier today, but any students who are yet to check their grades can do it by visiting board's official website - ahsec.nic.in and follow the directions mentioned here.  

Rank 1: Pubali Deka, Shraddha Bogohain- 481 marks

Rank 2: Kashmiri Das, Anwesha Kashyap, Saima- 477 marks

Rank 3: Jusmita Goswami, Farhanur Rahman, Mayurika Deka, Sangita Das, Poli Borah, Priyakhi Bora, Moumita Konwar- 473 marks

Sivasagar tops in science stream with a pass percentage of 95.97 per cent. Kokrajhar has the least pass percentage at 70.04 per cent

In commerce, even though Chirang (37 stuents), West K Anglomg (one student only), and Majuli (27 students) have given 100 per cent result, Sivasagar has got 95.50 per cent pass percentage. Hailakandi has the least pass percentage at 69.08 per cent.

Darrang is the best performing district in Arts stream with a pass percentage of 89.07 per cent followed by Sivasagar at 88.66 per cent. Hailakandi is the least performing districts with 56.29 per cent.

While commerce might have the highest number of students passing the class 12 board exam, the top rank has been secured by a student from the science stream. The overall topper of Assam HS result 2020 is Abinash Kalita from Barpeta with 486 marks. In the arts stream, two students – Pubali Dekha from Darrang and Shraddha Borgohain from Nagaon have jointly topped Assam HS with 481 marks out of 500. In commerce stream, Krishna Maheswari from Dibrugarh has obtained rank 1 with 471 marks.

This HS result is best in the past three years for all three streams. Arts stream — despite showing good performance in the past three years — 78.28 per cent in 2020, 75.14 per cent in 2019 and 74.68 per cent in 2018, still remains the lowest performer of the year. In commerce, the pass percentage jumped from 84.64 per cent in 2018 to 87.59 per cent in 2019 and 88.18 per cent in 2020. For the science stream, too the jump has been from 85.74 per cent in 2018, 86.59 per cent in 2019, and 88.06 per cent in 2020

The commerce stream has shown the best performance with 88.18 per cent of students passing the exam. Commerce continues to remain the best stream with the highest pass percentage for three consecutive years. This year, AHSEC’s science stream has scored the second spot with the pass percentage of 88.06 while in arts only 78.28 per cent students could pass

Sivasagar is the best performing district this year overall. In the arts stream, the Darrang is the best performing district with a pass percentage of 89.07 followed by Sivasagar at 88.66 per cent. A total of 91.55 per cent students cleared the Vocational stream exam successfully. A total of 222 students secured first division, second division- 529 students, third division- 18. Last year, the pass percentage was 89.42 per cent.

A total of 16,928 students secured first division, while 14,747 students got second division, and 3,172 passed with third division

A total of 88.06 per cent students cleared the Science stream exam successfully. Abhinash Kalita topped from Science with 486 marks (97.2 per cent). A total of 39,574 candidates appeared in the exam

A total of 88.18 per cent students cleared the Commerce stream exam successfully. Krishna Maheshwari topped from Commerce with 471 marks (94.2 per cent). A total of 17,713 candidates appeared in the exam

A total of 78.28 per cent students cleared the Arts stream exam successfully. Pubali Deka and Shraddha Bogohain topped from Humanities with 481 marks (96.2 per cent). A total of 1.6 lakh (1,68,367) candidates appeared in the exam

Abhinash Kalita is the Science topper and the overall topper in the HS exam. The topper scored 486 marks (97.2 per cent).

The result of Assam Higher Secondary Education Council, AHSEC HS class 12 exam has been declared. The students can check the result through the website ahsec.nic.in, via ‘Upolobdha’ app

Popularly known as SEBA, the board of Secondary Education, Assam monitors the high school level education in the state. Every year, the board conducts the class 10, 12 examinations in the state

Students can also check the result through the AHSEC result app. The mobile-based is available on Google Play. Students will have to download the app and follow these steps –

Step 1: Go to Google App Store

Step 2: Click on the application, find AHSEC result

Step 3: Log-in using the registration number

Step 4: Result will appear on the screen

Step 5: Download it, and take a print out for further reference.

The Assam Board had also taken strict measures to prevent cheating and other awkward activities during the examination hours. The board had mentioned some centres as ‘sensitive’ and made special arrangements on these centres. The CCTVs were also installed in all the centres to monitor the examination process.

The entire evaluation process was completed in May, and the council sent a communication to the state government mentioning that the board is ready to announce the results between June 20 to 25. “The final date will be announced by education minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. We are waiting for his approval before announcing the result date officially,” he said.

The pass percentage of male students is 66.93 per cent whereas the female pass percentage is 62.91 per cent. Combined, the pass percentage of the examination stood at 64.60 per cent

“The council has completed 80 per cent of the evaluation process before lockdown announced. The evaluation process started from March 14, and re-commenced from April 22, after state government put evaluation centres under emergency service category,” said controller Pankaj Borthakur.

The results will be declared today, June 25 at 9 am. The students can check the results through official websites ahsec.nic.in, resultsassam.nic.in. Apart from it, the results will be available at examresults.net and indiaresults.com.

With 64.80 per cent, the pass percentage improved from last year which was 60.23 per cent. In 2018, the pass percentage was 56.04 per cent, while 47.94 per cent in 2017, and 62.79 per cent in 2016.

The minimum marks required to pass the Assam Higher Secondary Board examination is 20 marks in each subject. If the students score 70 per cent or above, they’ll qualify for the distinction

The Assam government is planning to commence the next academic session from September, maintaining the UGC guidelines. “As HRD minister Ramesh Pokhriyal has already briefed, the syllabus will be reduced so that the academic calendar will not get hampered,” said a board official
