The pass percentage in intermediate exam was 78.04 per cent this year, dropped from 80.44 per cent last year.
The pass percentage also dropped stream wise, in the commerce stream, it was dropped from 93.26 per cent last year to 91.48 per cent this year, in arts stream, the pass percentage dropped from 81.44 per cent to 77.97 per cent, while in science stream it was a marginal dip from 77.39 per cent to 76.2 per cent this year.

The Bihar Board has shifted towards having 50 per cent objective type questions in the exam. The move has been introduced to assess students on their conceptual clarity but this has also resulted in a faster result and higher pass percentage. Further, more than 20 per cent internal choice is also given to the students.

From this year, the 50-mark language papers have been converted to one 100-marks exam. The number of additional subjects has also increased. In line with CBSE, students have the option to select six subjects and the best of five will be calculated. Students have the option to chose an elective subject. Nearly 13.50 lakh students appeared in the intermediate, class 12 exams held from February 1 to 13. The exam was held in two sessions, morning from 9:30 am to 12:45 pm and afternoon from 1:45 pm to 5 pm
In order to pass the intermediate exam, a candidate must obtain 30 per cent of total marks in the theory portion of each subject and 40 per cent of total marks in practical of each subject.
