BSEB 2024 Matric Result: Bihar board concludes Class 10 exam; when is result date?

The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) which concluded the Class 10 matric exam on February 23 will likely announce the result in March-April. The board which started the exams on February 15 conducted the BSEB Class 10 exams for a total of 16,94,781 students of which as many as 8,72,194 were girl students and 8,22,587 boys.

Last year, the board conducted matric exams from February 14 to February 22 and the results were declared on March 31. In 2022 as well, the Class 10 result was declared on March 31. Going by past year trends, the BSEB Class 10 result 2024 will also be made available before April 1.

The BSEB board exam for Class 10 was conducted at over 1,500 examination centers in the state. The board officials also made surprise visits to the exam centres as a measure to check the instances of cheating and using unfair means. BSEB also apprehended 33 persons impersonating students in the Bihar board Class 10 maths exams.

BSEB results from past years

In Class 10 board exams last year, as many as 16,10,657 students appeared for the matric exam, out of which 8,19,737 were girl students and 7,90,920 were boys. A total of 4,74,615 (2,73,933 boys and 2,00,682) obtained the first division, as many as 5,11,623 students got second division (2,49,311 boys and 2,62,312 girls), and 2,99,518 students got third division. The overall pass percentage last year recorded by Class 10 was 81.04 per cent.

In 2022, the first division marks were scored by 4,24,857 students. While as many as 5,10,411 students secured second division, 3,47,637 got third division marks. The overall pass percentage was 79.88 per cent in 2022.

In a recent development by the Bihar government, intermediate education in all three streams — arts, science and commerce will now be imparted only in higher secondary (HS) schools from the new session starting in April after the declaration of BSEB matric result. The students who qualify Class 10 this year will have to get themselves enrolled in HS schools.
