The Bihar Board Class 10 result was announced by BSEB Chairman, Anand Kishore, in an official press conference held at the Patna headquarters.

Over the past years, the overall pass percentage in the Bihar Board Class 10 exams has demonstrated fluctuations. In 2023, the pass percentage stood at 81.04%, marking a notable increase from the previous years. Similarly, in 2022, the pass percentage was recorded at 79.88%, while in 2021, it slightly increased to 78.17%.

The year 2020 witnessed a pass percentage of 80.59%, maintaining a relatively stable performance. In 2019, the pass percentage was relatively higher at 80.73%, followed by 68.89% in 2018 and 50.12% in 2017.

These figures reflect the varying trends in performance over the years, highlighting the continuous efforts to enhance academic achievements in Bihar Board Class 10 examinations.

In the 2023 matric results, there were 16,10,657 students, including 8,19,737 girls and 7,90,920 boys. However, the scenario was different in the 2022 matric exams, where out of 16,11,099 students, there were more boys (8,20,179) than girls (7,90,920). While historically boys have had higher registration numbers, the trend appears to be evolving, especially in Class 10, where girls have outnumbered boys in registrations, as seen in the years 2023 and 2024.

In a recent initiative by the Bihar government, intermediate education across all three streams—arts, science, and commerce—will now exclusively take place in higher secondary schools starting from the upcoming academic session. This means that students who successfully complete Class 10 this year will need to enroll themselves in higher secondary schools for further education.

During the Bihar Board Class 10 exams this year, authorities expelled 33 individuals impersonating students. The highest number of impersonators, totaling seven, were apprehended in the Nalanda district, followed by six in Gopalganj and five in Jahanabad. Additionally, four impersonators were caught in both Bhojpur and Navada districts, while two were discovered in both Saran and Saharsa. More impersonators were apprehended in Jamui, Arwal, and Buxar districts (one each). 

This year, the Bihar Board exam for Class 10 was conducted at over 1,500 examination centres in the state. 

The Bihar Board's Class 10th pass percentage has seen a consistent improvement over the years and is anticipated to exceed 81 percent this year.

In 2017, the pass rate stood at 50.12 percent, which steadily rose to 68.89 percent in 2018 and further to 80.73 percent in 2019. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, Bihar was among the few states that conducted board exams during these years, achieving comparatively better results. In 2020, the board recorded an 80.59 percent pass percentage, which saw a slight decline to 78.17 percent in 2021, before rebounding to 79.88 percent in 2022. 

The overall pass percentage increased to 81.04 per cent in 2023.
