CAT 2024 Application: Registration closed; check eligibility and exam pattern

CAT 2024 Registration: The application window for the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2024 concluded on September 20. Candidates yet to apply for the admission to postgraduate management programmes can apply at iimcat.ac.in.

The Indian Institution of Management Calcutta (IIM Calcutta) is the organising body of CAT this year. CAT 2024 is scheduled to be conducted on November 24. CAT 2024 will be conducted in around 170 cities. Candidates will be given the option to choose from five preferred cities in the CAT 2024 application form.

After the closure of the registration window on September 20, a very short edit window will be made available to the registered applicants. Candidates will be able to edit their photograph, signature and test city preferences in the application form (if required).

CAT 2024: Eligibility

Applicant must have a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 50 per cent or equivalent CGPA.

– Students from ST, SC, PwD categories must hold a bachelor’s degree with a minimum 45 per cent mark.

–  if a candidate does not have bachelor’s degree, they must at least completed a professional degree (CA, CS, ICWA, Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of India (FIAI)) with the required percentage.

CAT 2024: Exam pattern

The duration of the test will be 120 minutes. The test will have the following three sections:

Section I: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension
Section II: Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning
Section III: Quantitative Ability

According to the CAT 2023 paper analysis done by experts and feedback received by candidates taking the exam, IIM CAT 2023 was comparatively tougher than 2022.
