DU 3rd Cut Off List 2020 LIVE UPDATES: The University of Delhi (DU) released the third cut-off list for admission to undergraduate courses across colleges today at du.ac.in. Under the third cut-off list, many courses have been closed. At the same time, some seats which were closed under the second list have reopened at some colleges as students were allowed to change courses/colleges after the second list.

The cut-off, however, for popular courses as well as colleges continued to remain high. In the Lady Sri Ram College where the first cut-off was at 100%, in the third list too the marks needed for admission remain 99.5%. In many other courses, a slight dip has been observed.

The first cut-off for admission under NCWEB has also been released today. The admissions for both NCWEB and regular courses will be accepted from October 26 and conclude on October 28, 5 pm. A total of five cut-off lists are expected to release. In case seats are still available, a special cut-off will be released by the varsity.

Admission process closed in most courses

Most courses closed for admissions in Delhi University’s third cut-off list announced Saturday. Overall, over 80 per cent seats have already been filled after the second round of admission. Courses which remain open have not seen major drops in percentage.

Lady Shri Ram College for Women, however, which had announced skyrocketing cut-offs. including 100% in three subjects, is still open for admission in most of its courses

How to count best of four

The cut-off is counted on the basis of the ‘best of four’ formulae. Thus, the percentage of the top four scoring subjects in class 12 are considered for admission. As a thumb rule, one language paper and the rest best of three courses are considered but when a student opts for a specialisation, they must have a specific course in class 12 for which they are applying. For instance, for BA (H) Economics, economics is a must subject. Check the best of four formulae for your course here

How to apply for admission?

Several colleges have started releasing cut-offs. Students who have marks equal to or more than the cut0off can apply for these courses from Monday. A student can log-in to their dashboard and select course and college they wish to apply for among the ones that are available based on eligibility. Once the application is accepted by the college, students will have to pay fees to reserve seats. The admission this year is being held online due to the pandemic.

DU NCWEB, merit based cut-offs today

The University of Delhi is releasing the first cut-off list for NCWEB, the second cut-off for entrance based admissions, and the third cut-off list for admission to merit-based courses today. All the cut-offs are available at the respective colleges or du.ac.in. Students can also log-in to their candidate log-in and check the courses or colleges they are eligible to apply for under the new lists.

DU 3rd cut-off LIVE UPDATES: This year, a record 3,53,919 students had applied for 64,000 undergraduate seats across colleges in DU. This is highest in the past three years and about 1 lakh more than that of last year. This year, due to a high number of applicants, the cut-off have reached 100 per cent. Those who get marks equal to or more than the cut-off can book their seats by applying through student log-in at du.ac.in. Candidates will be approved after which they have to pay fees and reserve a seat. The admission process is being held online because of the pandemic and students are advised not to queue up at the colleges.
