Since childhood, Shivang Chauhan has been clear about becoming a doctor. After cracking the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-UG in 2024 on the second attempt, the 19-year-old is now studying MBBS at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Ajmer. He completed his schooling in Rajasthan and for NEET UG preparation. "In the morning I used to study biology, especially botany then after having a break of 10-15 minutes after every hour, I studied chemistry or physics. Followed by a nap in noon. It was between 2 pm and 5 pm when I used to assess my preparation and in the night I used to revise zoology. I attended Allen's online coaching classes," he said. NCERT, time management, and revision were his success mantras which helped him crack the NEET UG. "Time management is important. as due to this, I could revise and practice mock tests timely. Being disciplined is also essential for exam preparation," he said. Shivang scored 88.9 per cent in Class 12 and is exploring options after doing MBBS. He finds the Department of Surgery fascinating, however, is also pondering other medical departments. Chauhan also shared about his college life experiences, where they had recently concluded a function in which he also participated. "Due to NEET preparation, I was unable to participate in extracurricular activities in schools. But I will balance everything in college," he said. "My college timing is between 8 am and 3 pm and here is a pretty good study and life balance. The patient inflow is also good and the teachers are supportive of any academic or non-academic problems," he added.
