Last year, GATE was held on February 4, 5, 11 and 12 in eight sessions. Around 6.70 lakh students registered for GATE last year out of which about 5.17 lakh appeared for the exam. The pass percentage last year was nearly 18 per cent.

The GATE cut-offs will depend on multiple factors. The number of total candidates appearing for GATE, availability of seats at the participating institutions, previous year’s trends and the difficulty level of the exam play an important role in deciding the cut-off.

Answer: GATE 2024 exam was held for 30 papers in total. IISc Bangalore this year has introduced a new paper in GATE. The new paper is on Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (DA).

The response sheets were released on February 15, and answer keys, question papers were released on February 19. 6. There is no partial marking in MSQ.

Last year, GATE was conducted in 29 subject areas with the choice of selecting two papers in some subjects. As many as 5.17 lakh appeared for the exam, while only around 1 lakh candidates qualified it, making the pass percentage as 18%.
