Goa Board HSSC supplementary examination begins

This year, a total of 17987 students appeared for the Goa Board HSSC exams, of which 8550 were male candidates and 9437 were female students.

The Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (GBSHSE) has released the dates for HSSC supplementary examination. The Goa Board supplementary examination 2024 will start on May 27 and will end on June 7. The Goa Board examination will be held in some selective exam centres.

These centres are North Goa, Mapusa Center at D.M.S PVC SM, Kushe Higher Secondary School, Assagao, Bardez Goa, South Goa, Margao and Center Carmel Higher Secondary School, Nuvem.

The overall pass percentage is 85 per cent with males securing 81.6 per cent and females 88 per cent.  Analysing the results stream then commerce is ahead with other streams by securing a pass percentage of 90.7 per cent, followed by arts (86.3%), science (82.4%) and vocational (76.4%).

According to the criteria set by GBSHSE, the passing threshold for the Goa Board is 33 per cent. If a student scores below 33 per cent in any subject, they will be designated as ‘Fail’ in that specific subject. Achieving 33 per cent earns students a Grade G. Below the passing threshold, no grade is assigned to students.

Before Class 12, the board released the results for Class 10. This year the pass percentage is 92.38 per cent with girls performing better than boys. This year, out of the total 9,318 boys, 8,556 boys passed, securing 91.82 per cent. Out of the total of 9,596 girls, 8,918 girls passed the examination, securing 92.93 per cent.
