HPBoSE board exams 2023: ‘Flying squads’ set up to combat cheating cases

HP Board Exams 2023: A total of 90,637 students will take the Class 10 board exams and 1,03,928 students will appear in Class 12. While the Class 10 exams will begin on March 11, the Class 12 boards will begin on March 10.

HPBoSE board exams 2023: The Himachal Pradesh School Education Board on Thursday said it will set up teams at the district level across the state to combat cheating in the board examinations for classes 10 and 12 beginning this week.

A total of 90,637 students will take the Class 10 board exams and 1,03,928 students will appear in Class 12. While the Class 10 exams will begin on March 11, the Class 12 boards will begin on March 10. The exams will continue up to March 31.

The board secretary Dr Vishal Sharma said, a total of 2,180 examination centres have been set up across the state. The official further said ‘flying squads’ will be formed at the district level to check cheating.

Last year, the board recorded an overall pass percentage of 87.5 per cent for class 10 exams which is the highest among the pre-pandemic years when exam was conducted in offline mode.As many as 67 girls made it to the top 10 while 11 boys were in the top 10. Priyanka and Devangi Sharma topped HP board Class 10 results with 693 marks or 99 per cent.

Given the unprecedented circumstances of Covid-19 pandemic, the board last year conducted exams in two terms. The same exam pattern was followed this year as well.
