HPBOSE HP Board 12th Result 2020 HIGHLIGHTS: Overall performance improves by 14.06%

HPBOSE 12th Result 2020 HIGHLIGHTS: The Himachal Pradesh Board, HPBOSE declared the result of class 12 exam today. Out of 86,633 candidates who appeared for the exams this year, 65,654 students passed. The state recorded 76.07 passing percentage, which saw a significant improve as compared to the previous term.

Top 5 (Science Stream): Prakash Kumar from Kullu district - 99.4%, Shubham Jaiswal from Una district - 99.2%, Tanisha from Kangra district - 99%, Abhinav Karmani from Kangra district - 98.8%, Ankush Sharma from Hamirpur district - 98.6% 

Top 5 (Arts stream): Shruti Kashyap from Shimla district - 98.2%, Sushant Chouhan from Sirmor district - 97.8% , Aanchal and Amritanshu from Sirmor amd Shimla districts - 97.2%, Prachi Sharma from Solan district - 96.8%

Calculation of marks for pending exams!

The board declared the results without conducting the pending Geography paper. HPBoSE stated that the grade for the Geography paper will be awarded in proportion to the highest marks received on the previous four exams. Meanwhile, the practical marks for the same will be given on the basis of marks obtained in the school.

Massive improvement in passing percentage

The state had witnessed a significant drop in the performance since 2016. However, this time the passing percentage improved by a whopping 14.06 percent as compared to the previous year. In 2019, the state had recorded only 62.01 passing per cent, while it was 69.67 and 72.89 in 2018 and the year before.

Girls outperform boys

The girls have outperformed boys students scoring 80 pass percentage. Out of the 43,410 male candidates, only 72.40 per cent could clear the exam.

Prakash Kumar tops class 12 exam with 99.40%

Prakash Kumar, who fetched 99.40 per cent, emerged as the leading scorer in the science stream. Meanwhile, Shruti Kashyap with 98.20 per cent scored the highest marks in Arts and Meghna Gupta stood as the topper from the commerce stream with 97.6 per cent.

Meet the toppers of Arts stream

Shruti Kashyap has topped the Himachal Pradesh, HPBOSE class 12 exam this year followed by Sushant Chauhan who secured the second place with 489 marks. The third spot was bagged by Aanchal and Amritanshu with 486 marks (97.2%).

The pass percentage is on decline since 2016. While most expect a reverse trend this year, here is look at the last years' pass percentages

Documents needed to check the result

To check the result, candidates need to keep their admit card also known as hall ticket handy. In order to check the result, students will be asked to use their roll number. Only after submitting the relevant details will one be able to check their scores.

About HPBOSE

The Himachal Pradesh Board of Secondary Education came into existence in 1969. At present, more than 8000 schools are affiliated with the same. The Board has set up 1650 examination centres throughout the state. The Himachal Board also publishes textbooks for classes 1 to 12.

New vocational courses been introduced

For the next academic session, the board has introduced 15 new vocational courses from class 9 to class 12. The courses are developed for specific vocational jobs in several sectors including IT, ITS, healthcare, media, beauty and wellness, tourism, electronics, plumber, etc. The syllabus for these subjects will be prepared by Pandit Sunder Lal Sharma Central Institute of Vocational Education, Bhopal

The Himachal Board 12th result is announced in the last two weeks of April. In 2016 it was declared on April 26; in 2017 it was April 28 and in 2018 it was declared on April 24.

How marks to be calculated

The result will be announced based on four exams which have been conducted. The marks of the fifth elective subject will be on marked proportional to the highest marks scored in the four subjects for which the exams have been conducted.

Where to get the mark-sheet from?

The mark sheet so displayed on the computer screen as and when the candidates check their results will be considered as the provisional mark sheet hence students should take a print out and download the score-card for future reference. Additionally, students will get an official mark sheet from their respective schools. While the lateral might take time, provisional mark sheet is accepted during admissions as well.

How to apply for re-evaluation

Students who are unhappy with their answer sheets re-evaluated or re-checked may apply by depositing fees of Rs 400 and Rs 300 respectively. The dates will be announced soon.

A total of 86,633 candidates appeared in the class 12 exam. The number of male students supersede that of female students, 43,410 male in comparison to 42,898 female students. A total of 325 students did not appear in the exam

HPBOSE 12th Result 2020 HIGHLIGHTS: To pass the exam, candidates will have to score 33 per cent marks in each subject as well as overall. The number of students clearing the HP Board exams has been on a decline since 2016.

The pass percentage over the years has dropped from 78.93 per cent in 2016 to 72.89 per cent in 2017 to 69.67 per cent in 2018. Last year, a huge drop of 7 per cent was observed as only 62.01 per cent students cleared the exam.
