The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Gandhinagar, and the Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand, have launched a double-degree master’s programme, which will allow students to pursue two separate postgraduate degrees from either institution, simultaneously.
The postgraduate courses covered under the double-degree programme are data science and artificial intelligence, bio-nano materials science and engineering, environmental engineering and management, remote sensing and geographic information systems (GIS), geotechnical and earth resources engineering, water engineering and management, and sustainable energy transition.
Interested candidates may apply for the August semester till July 15.
“Students will spend their first and fourth semesters at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand, and their second and third semesters at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Gandhinagar in India. They will have the opportunity to learn from expert faculty and academics from both institutions, explore interdisciplinary research domains, and access world-class laboratories and infrastructure,” said an IIT, Gandhinagar, spokesperson.
“IITGN and AIT will also offer extensive networking opportunities with industry leaders, business executives, NGOs, and governmental agencies across Asia, so that students graduate as market-ready professionals,” the spokesperson said, adding that the institutes will also organise placement and career fairs.
Both institutions will provide on-campus residence facilities and assist students with e-visa processing to ensure a smooth transition between the campuses, the spokesperson said.
