The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras is inviting aspirants with a valid GATE score in subject code-XH (Humanities & Social Sciences) to apply for the two-year Master’s programme offered in Development Studies, English, and Economics starting in July 2023. Interested candidates can apply for this masters programme by visiting the official IIT madras website — mtechadm.iitm.ac.in. Candidates have time till April 7 to apply for these two year long masters courses. According to the official schedule the timeline for admission offers will start from May 20, and the date of reporting for admission is July 24. After that, the orientation is tentatively scheduled for July 26 and classes will begin from July 31. However, aspirants should remember that the dates mentioned above are tentative and can be changed by the institute. Interested students are required to complete a minimum of 200 credits to be eligible for the MA degree. Each stream will have 25 seats for Indian students; seats for foreign students will be supernumerary. The students of each stream will have the option of upgrading to PhD programme as per the institute guidelines.
