JEE Main 2023, Session 1 Result Updates: The National Testing Agency (NTA) released the results for Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE Main) 2023, Session 1 on February 7. Candidates who appeared for the exam can check the result at the official website — jeemain.nta.nic.in. JEE Main 2023 final provisional answer key was released on February 6. The provisional answer key was released on February 2 and students had time till February 4 to raise challenges to the answer key.
The exams were conducted on January 24, 25, 28, 29, 30, 31 and February 1. The exam held on January 28 was for B Arch and B Planning, remaining others for BE and BTech. This year, a total of 8.60 lakh students registered for session 1 exams and 8.23 lakh (95.80%) candidates appeared for the entrance exams. In session 1, a total of 20 candidates have scored 100 percentile, of which 14 are from general category, four from OBC-NCL, and one each from gen-EWS and SC category. There are two girls who have scored 99.99 percentile.
Session one of JEE Main 2023 recorded the highest ever attendance with 95.8 percent. This year, JEE is being conducted in two sessions. The second session will be held on April 6, 8, 10, 11 and 12. The reserve dates for the exam are April 13 and 15. The registration for session two commenced today and will conclude on March 7.

Two candidates from Gujarat were among the 20 who scored 100 percentile in the entrance exam JEE-Main’s January edition, results of which were announced by National Testing Agency on Tuesday. The session 2 exams will be conducted on April 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 2023. Interested candidates will be able to register for the second session at the official JEE website — jeemain.nta.nic.in.
This year, the total number of registrations for session 1 have gone up by 3.84 per cent in comparison to 2022 exams. In 2022 session 1 exam, a total of 8.72 lakh candidates had registered for the JEE Main session 1, of which 7.69 lakh appeared for the exam.

Maharashtra has recorded the most number of registrations for the session 1 exams. According to the data provided by the NTA, 1.06 lakh students registered from the state, out of which 72,013 were male candidates and 34,093 females candidates.
This year, the NTA had received a total of 9.06 lakh registrations, out of which 6.28 lakh are male candidates, 2.77 aspirants are female and only three candidates have registered under the ‘third gender’ category (who hail from Bihar, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh).

No marks will be awarded for dropped questions. Last year, the NTA stated, “if none of the options is found correct or a question is found to be wrong or a question is dropped then percent equivalence is to be established on the remaining questions whether attempted or not attempted.'
However, this is only if the question is in MCQ form. If the question would have been a numerical value question, then “four marks ( 4) will be awarded to all those who have attempted the question.”

Joint Entrance Examination (JEE)-Main 2023 registered an all-time high attendance of 95.8 percent in the January session. According to the National Testing Agency (NTA) officials, over 8.6 lakh candidates registered for Paper 1 (BE/BTech), while over 46,000 registered for Paper 2 (BArch).
The Goa Chief Minister recently announced that a new IIT campus will be constructed in the South of Goa. The government is currently working on finding a suitable piece of land for the new IIT campus. The CM had earlier said in the state Assembly that some people were going around opposing the land acquisition for the IIT Goa campus.
IIT Tirupati offers five BTech programmes namely: chemical engineering, civil and environmental engineering, computer science and engineering, electrical engineering and mechanical engineering. Admission to all the above programmes is carried out on the basis of IIT-JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) Advanced scores.

Out of the 823967 candidates who appeared for the JEE Main session 1 exams this year, 243928 were female candidates, 580037 male candidates and only two were registered under the third gender category.

In the list of this year's session 1 toppers, no female candidate has scored 100 percentile. Meesala Pranathi Sreeja has topped the female category with the NTA score of 99.997, followed by Ramireddy Meghana, who scored 99.994.
NTA Scores are normalised scores across multi-session papers and are based on the relative performance of all those who appeared for the examination in one session. The marks obtained are converted into a scale ranging from 100 to 0 for each session of examinees.

Candidates should remember that the NTA score is not the same as the percentage of marks obtained.

The NTA Score of about 50 candidates have been withheld as they are under scrutiny. The cases of these candidates are being placed before a Committee separately. Their NTA Scores will be declared once the Committee finalises its report.

As per the candidates’ initial reaction, it was found that in almost every shift, the paper was easy to moderate in the level of difficulty. As per Saurabh Kumar, Chief Academics Officer (CAO), Vidyamandir Classes, “This year the cut-off for general category students is expected to be around 87-88 percentile while for SC category between 42-43 percentile, 63-64 percentile for EWS candidates and 66-67 percentile for OBC category.”
Meanwhile, Nitin Arora, Assistant Director of Academics at Aakash BYJU’S Live believes that since the exam was easier to moderate difficulty level, the expected cut-off for the unreserved category will be around 90-92 Percentile.

The eligibility criteria for JEE Main 2023 is that the candidates who have passed the class 12/equivalent examination in 2021, 2022, or appearing in 2023 irrespective of their age can appear in the examination. Candidates who passed class 12/equivalent examination in 2020 or before, as well as those who will appear in such examination in 2024 can also appear for the entrnace exam.
Candidates who are not satisfied with their JEE Main session 1 result have a chance to improve their scores. Such students can reappear for the exam in session 2. The registration process for JEE Main Session 2 begins today. The exams for session 2 will be conducted on April 6, 8, 10, 11 and 12. The reserve dates for the exam are April 13 and 15. Any student who has already appeared for session one and wishes to appear for session two will have to log in again. They will have to pay the exam fee for session two.
