The JEE Main Mathematics syllabus consists of around 25 chapters. It is the most important part of the JEE preparation and requires a thorough revision of the subject. The following are the most important chapters for JEE Main 2023 Math:

Integration, Differentiation, Probability, Three-Dimensional Geometry, Trigonometry, Vector Algebra, Conic Sections, Straight Lines, Sets, Relations and Functions, Matrices And Determinants.

Students appearing in JEE Main 2023 Session 2 can download their admit cards by following the given steps:

The NTA is conducting JEE Main 2023, session 2 exam for about 9.4 lakh candidates in about 330 cities across the country and 15 cities abroad. The remaining exams will be conducted on April 8, 10, 11 and 12. The reserve dates for the exam are April 13 and 15.

Candidates are not allowed to carry anything except a ball point pen, their admit card and their Aadhaar card. A transparent water bottle is allowed.

The Chemistry paper was largely based on NCERT. Questions from Physical, Organic and Inorganic Chemistry were more or less evenly distributed. As per students, Class 12 Chemistry was given more weightage. Questions from prominent chapters like solutions, solid state, electrochemistry, alcohol, phenol and ether and aldehyde, ketone and carboxylic acids were asked. Physics was easy in terms of difficulty. There were two-three questions from work, power and energy and one question in unit and dimensions were there in the paper. Mathematics paper was moderate in terms of difficulty but slightly time taking due to the lengthy calculations. Questions were asked from sequence and series, differential equations, trigonometry and algebra. There was one question from statistics and one from probability. Almost all the topics were covered.

Chemistry was rated easy to moderate on the difficulty level. Organic and Inorganic Chemistry were given more weightage than Physical Chemistry. Questions were asked from d & f block elements, environmental chemistry, chemistry in everyday life, biomolecules, aldehydes and ketones, amines, ethers and phenols, aryl and alkyl halides, chemical equilibrium, atomic structure, solutions, chemical kinetics. MCQs were tricky compared to numericals.

Physics was rated as easy on the difficulty level. Chapters of kinematics, circular motion, laws of motion, rotational motion, SHM, gravitation, heat and thermodynamics, wave optics, current electricity, electrostatics, AC circuits, modern physics, error analysis and semi-conductors were given weightage.Numericals were easy, class 12 was given more weightage.

Mathematics was rated moderate on the difficulty level. Weightage was given to algebra and coordinate geometry. Questions were asked from straight lines, parabola, circles, definite integrals, limits, differential equations, area, matrices, binomial theorem, probability, statistics, determinants, vectors, 3D geometry, complex numbers, progression series. Both MCQs and numericals required lengthy calculations.

Students were allowed to carry only a ball point pen, their admit card and aadhaar card to the examination hall. A transparent water was also allowed.

The National Testing Agency will conduct the next exam for JEE Main 2023 on April 8. The remaining exams will be held on April 10, 11 and 12. The reserve dates for the exam are April 13 and 15. So far, NTA has released admit card for the exam April 8.

In Physics, majorly questions were from the Class 11 syllabus. The questions for Chemistry were evenly asked from Class 11 and 12 syllabus. Even in Mathematics, majorly questions were from the Class 11 syllabus. Overall the questions distribution from the Class 11 syllabus dominated the paper.

The Mathematics paper was termed as moderate on difficulty level. Some MCQs were tricky and lengthy. Questions were asked from all chapters. There was emphasis on questions from algebra and calculus, other than questions were from matrices, determinants, 3D geometry, vectors, progressions, permutation and combination, probability, binomial theorem, complex numbers, differentiation, definite integrals, area under curves, parabola and circle. The second shift of JEE Main 2023, session 2 has begun. The paper will conclude at 6 pm. Student should ensure that they have their admit cards with them

Students will get a total of 90 questions, each section (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) will 30 questions. Students have to answer all 20 questions in section A and 5 out of 10 questions in section B. The JEE Main 2023 paper will be of total 300 marks, each section will be of 100 marks.

- Every student have to go through a sanitizing station where they are suppose to sanitize themselves through a foot press lever.
- Personal masks are not allowed, the students have been given a fresh surgical mask at entry.
- Metal detectors have been used at the entry gate and no bags or wrist watches are allowed inside.
- Time clock on computer screen will provided inside the examination hall.

'The next hearing for JEE 75 per cent eligibility plea will be on Wednesday (April 12) or Thursday (April 13). Govt counsel will inform after confirming with AG as he will be appearing,' said advocate Anubha Srivastava

"The Bombay High Court has asked the government to submit some documents pertaining to 75 per cent criteria, such as since when is it applicable and top 20 percentile how it's going to help if different states have different top 20 percentile," Anubha Srivastava told Deeksha Teri.

The 75 per cent eligibility criteria plea, which was filed by Anubha Srivastava, was heard today by a Bench of Acting CJ SV Gangapurwala and J. Sandeep V. Marne. "File an affidavit to this and the intervention application," the Bombay High Court told NTA, according to LiveLaw.

There were direct questions from NCERT for organic and inorganic chemistry. Physical Chemistry was given less weightage, questions were asked from electrochemistry, ionic equilibrium, chemical kinetics, chemical equilibrium and atomic structure. Organic Chemistry had questions from aldehydes and ketones, amines, alcohols, phenols, biomolecules and general Organic Chemistry. Inorganic Chemistry had questions from co-ordination compounds, Chemistry in everyday life, group-18. Few questions from organic chemistry were rated as tricky, overall the paper was rated as easy to moderate on the difficulty level.

There were a good number of numericals, they were largely formula based. As per students Class 11 and 12 Physics had equal weightage in paper. Previous year questions were also there in the paper.

The Chemistry paper was mostly based on NCERT books. Numericals were on the lower side even in Physical Chemistry. There were a lot of theoretical questions. Overall the questions were more or less evenly distributed between Physical, Organic and Inorganic Chemistry.  Questions were asked from prominent chapters like p-block, coordination, biomolecules, alcohol, phenol and ether, chemical bonding and aldehyde, ketone and carboxylic acids. Overall coverage of the chapters was uniform. Qualitative Analysis, d-block and p-block had weightage in the paper. According to students, Class 12 chemistry had more weightage in the paper.

Candidates are required to carry these documents to the JEE Main session 2 exam centres:

- Admit Card along with passport size photograph affixed on it.

- One passport-size photograph (to be affixed on the attendance sheet on the day of the Examination.

- Candidates are advised not to bring any other items to the examination centers. There will be no arrangement for the safekeeping of  any material at the centre. Neither NTA nor centre will be responsible for any loss, delay etc. 

It has also been announced that the Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) and Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) will not take the JEE Main 2023 exam, and will no longer be considered as foreign national candidates. They will be included in the common merit list for the general category seats during the process of seat allocations. Earlier, 10 per cent supernumerary seats were declared for foreign nationals.

The second shift of the day 1 of the Session 2 JEE Main 2023 exam will begin at 3 pm. Candidates should report to their exam centres by 1 pm.

Keeping in view the decision taken by different Boards all over India, NTA has decided that there will be a total of 90 Questions in the Question Paper and the candidates will be required to attempt 75 questions only.

The Delhi High Court also has a JEE plea on hold. The plea is for relaxation of “two attempts in two consecutive years” for students who did not appear for JEE Advanced twice, or even once in 2021 and 2022 — due to Covid. The Delhi High Court had earlier heard the plea and had asked the respondents to file their response. Candidates claimed that they faced technical issues and were unable to reach their exam centres on time due to last-minute changes in the exam centre, due to which they were unable to appear for the exam.

The Bombay High Court will today (April 6) hear the plea for the removal of JEE Main 75 per cent eligibility criterion. Through this plea, the petitioner has requested the National testing Agency (NTA) to remove the 75 per cent eligibility criterion for this attempt. Read more about this plea here
