The National Testing Agency (NTA) held the first session of JEE Main 2024 from January 24 to February 1, for which the result was declared on February 13 morning. The JEE Main 2024 cut-off will be the determining factor for the eligibility to register for JEE Advanced and admission to the IITs, NITs, IIEST, IIITs and other-GFTIs. JEE cut-offs depend on various factors, including the number of total candidates, availability of seats at participating institutions, previous year's trends and the difficulty level of the exam. According to Saurabh Kumar, chief academic officer of Vidyamandir Classes, the expected cut-off for JEE Main 2024 session 1 will vary category-wise and will be as follows: – General: 89.75 – EWS: 78.21 – OBC: 74.31 – SC: 44 – PWD: 0.11 According to Infinity Learn by Sri Chaitanya, going by the difficulty level of the multiple shifts of the exam, the 99.5 percentile score will hover around 184 to 200. This is one of the highest percentages of attendance for JEE Main since NTA has started conducting JEE Main examination, NTA said. Out of the 12,21,615 candidates registering for JEE Main paper 1, as many as 11,70,036 candidates appeared. The JEE Main session 1 BArch paper was taken by 55,493 candidates out of the total 74,002 registered candidates. Apart from the 544 exam centres in 291 cities, JEE Main session 1 was also conducted in 21 cities outside India. The session 1 result is set to be declared on February 12. The NTA has released the final answer keys of the JEE Main paper 1 already. The JEE Main 2024 answer keys have been released at the NTA’s official websites – nta.ac.in and jeemain.nta.ac.in.
