JEE Main Result 2025 Session 2 Live Updates: Expected cut-off

According to Sandeep Mehta, IIT Alumnus and co-founder, Vidyamandir Classes, the JEE Main cut-off for qualifying to sit in JEE Advanced 2025 will be based on aspects such as the difficulty level of the exam, number of aspirants, and overall performance. Going by recent trends, the general category cutoff is expected to be between the 93 to 95 percentile, which is approximately equivalent to about 85–90 marks out of 300. For OBC-NCL and EWS candidates, the cutoff is likely to be a bit lower, about 91 to 93 percentile, with scores around 80–85 marks.

For SC candidates, the cutoff percentile is likely to be around 82 to 86 and for ST candidates, around 73 to 80 percentile. This implies that candidates belonging to these categories might need to secure between 50 to 65 marks. PwD candidates are likely to have a lower cutoff of around 40 to 45 percentile, IIT alumnus and co-founder said.

"I joined the institute in July 2024. I had never lived in a hostel or for that matter anywhere away from home. It was only after I left for college that I realised I wouldn’t be going back home for a while. I’ve always liked roti sabzi so the mess food wasn’t too bad at first, though by now I’ve grown tired of it. After 2 years of seeing the same group of 30 or so batchmates in my coaching, it was nice to meet a lot of new people. I’m not a very social person but I enjoy spending time with my friends. Finding friends didn’t feel too difficult, most people were in the same boat as me." Here's how Aneesh Rao from IIT Ropar say about life in IIT.
