JEE Main Result 2025 Highlights: The National Testing Agency (NTA) on April 19 announced the Joint Entrance Exam Main (JEE Main) session 2 result on the official website. The link to access the JEE Main 2025 April session result for paper 1 is now active at the official website – jeemain.nta.nic.in. This year, 24 students got 100 percentile.

NTA conducted the second session of JEE Main 2025 from April 2 to 9, 2025. The  JEE Main 2025 result is announced along with the cut-off by the NTA. The JEE Main session 2 result includes the cut-off for JEE Advanced, all India rank holders and state-wise toppers.

NTA on April 8 concluded the paper 1 BE and BTech paper exams in the second session of JEE Main 2025. According to students who appeared in JEE Main and feedback shared by various subject experts, questions in all the JEE Main 2025 session 2 shifts held between April 2 and 8 covered almost all chapters of Class 11 and 12 NCERT textbooks.

The JEE Main 2025 for BTech and BE paper or Paper 1 comprised three subjects – physics, chemistry and mathematics and was held for 300 marks.

NTA had released the provisional answer keys on April 11 and candidates were given the option to raise objections against the answer key by April 13. NTA, on April 18, uploaded the JEE Main final answer key for session 2 with the two questions dropped. For the dropped questions, four marks will be awarded to all candidates.

JEE Main Result 2025 Declared Live Updates: How many candidates appeared this year?

The JEE (Main) 2025 Paper 1 for BE, BTech witnessed significant participation across both sessions. In total, 15,39,848 unique candidates registered for either the January or April session, while 14,75,103 unique candidates actually appeared in the exam across both rounds. Out of these, 8,33,536 candidates registered for both sessions, and 7,75,383 of them appeared in both attempts.

In the April 2025 Session 2 of JEE Main Paper 1, a total of 9,92,350 candidates appeared for the exam, including 6,81,871 females and 3,10,479 males. Among them, the General category had the highest number of candidates at 3,72,675 (2,50,849 females and 1,21,826 males), followed by the OBC category with 3,74,860 candidates (2,58,274 females and 1,16,586 males). The EWS category recorded 1,12,790 candidates (80,200 females and 32,590 males), SC had 97,887 (68,872 females and 29,015 males), and ST had the lowest number of candidates with 34,138 (23,676 females and 10,462 males). Once again, female candidates outnumbered males in every category.

Hailing originally from Guthikonda in the Palhnadu district, Andhra Pradesh, Sai Manogna is among those few who topped both sessions of JEE Main. In an interview with indianexpress.com, she said she devoted 12-14 hours daily to her studies including preparation of the JEE Main. "Constant revising helped me achieve confidence. Sunday was the only day when. I used to relax – wake up late, watch motivational videos of IIT students who showed life in an IIT, discoveries, etc,” she added.

In the April 2025 Session 2 of JEE Main paper 1 or BE/ BTech paper, a total of 10,61,840 candidates registered, with 7,26,205 females and 3,35,635 males. Category-wise, the General category had the highest number of candidates at 4,00,696 (2,68,418 females and 1,32,278 males), followed closely by OBC with 3,99,002 candidates (2,73,584 females and 1,25,418 males). The EWS category saw 1,17,582 registrations (83,492 females and 34,090 males), while the SC category had 1,06,876 candidates (74,793 females and 32,083 males). The ST category had the lowest number of registrations at 37,684, including 25,918 females and 11,766 males. Notably, female candidates outnumbered male candidates in every category.

JEE Main Result 2025 Live Updates: Questions dropped in January and April session

In the JEE Main 2025 January session, as many as 12 questions were dropped by NTA. The final answer key was released on the afternoon of February 10.

In the JEE Main April session, two questions are dropped. The final answer key was released on April 18 after considering the grievances raised by the candidates between April 11 and 13.

For these dropped questions, four marks will be awarded to all candidates who appeared for the test.
