JEE Main Result 2025 Updates: Meet toppers expected cut-off

Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) will conduct UG entrance examinations in May. AP EAPCET (Engineering) will be held between May 21 and May 27 while agriculture and pharma is scheduled from May 19-20.

Om Prakash Behera has achieved the perfect NTA score of 100 in the JEE Main January 2025 session, the results of which were released on February 11. The topper does not own a phone, citing distractions as a major concern. His daily routine consists of eight to nine hours of self-study. His ultimate goal is to pursue a BTech from the computer science and engineering branch of IIT Bombay.

Prakash’s approach to learning was centered around self-analysis and improvement. “After every test, I would analyse my mistakes and work on not repeating them in the next test,” he explains.

Opening up about his study routine, Daksh who scored 100 NTA score in JEE Main 2025 January session exam says, a typical day began with relaxation, followed by revision and attending classes at his coaching institute, Vidya Mandir Classes. After classes, he says, he studied for several hours, focusing on workbooks, previous year questions and mock tests.

Rajit Gupta, a resident of Mahavir Nagar in Career City Kota, scored 100 NTA score in JEE Main January Session. Rajit has passed Class 10 with 96.8 percent marks.

“My main focus was not to repeat the mistakes, because only when mistakes are removed, the foundation of your subject becomes strong. Happiness is my key of success. I remain happy in every situation,” he said.

“I am currently in class 12th but whenever I get a chance, I play with the children of the colony. I am confident about my preparation. I had not even seen the answer key. My father told me to get the answer key once but I said, ‘Papa, don’t worry, I will qualify for Advanced’. However, I never strictly followed a schedule for studies because it creates unnecessary pressure. So I used to study only when I felt like it, but for whatever time I studied, I used to study well. I used to study further in the topic only after clearing my doubts. Allen is the perfect institute for preparing for exams like JEE. Here, apart from the teachers’ guidelines and Allen’s study material, you do not need to get distracted anywhere. Currently, the focus is on JEE Advanced. Father Deepak Gupta is a sub-divisional engineer in BSNL and mother Dr. Shruti Agarwal is a professor of home science subject in JDB College.”

In the ST category, Parth Sehra from Rajasthan has topped, while in PwBD category, Harshal Gupta from Chhattisgarh has topped the JEE Main exam.

In the OBC NCL category, Daksh from Delhi has topped, while in SC category, Shreyas Lohiya from Uttar Pradesh has topped the JEE Main exam.

Saksham, a resident of Hisar in Haryana, was enrolled in a regular classroom programme of Allen Career Institute. He has been preparing for JEE Main from the past two years. Saksham, who passed Class 10 exams with 98 percent marks, says Math has been his favourite subject.

Born to doctor parents (Dr Umesh Jindal, pathologist and Dr Anita Jindal) says he dreams of getting admission to IIT Bombay.

Speaking about his preparation strategy, he said, "I always tried my best to understand every chapter in depth. I prepared for Chemistry by focusing completely on NCERT syllabus. I used to do practicals of questions again and again. This strengthened my confidence."

In JEE Main, there is no need for any reference book or material other than NCERT syllabus, he said adding that the modules and study material provided by Allen were sufficient. He credits his success to the weekly tests that improved his performance and the regular doubt-solving sessions that strengthened his grip on the topics. Now his main focus is on JEE Advanced.

This year, 12 questions have been dropped by NTA. The final answer key was released on the afternoon of February 10. For those dropped questions, four marks will be awarded to all candidates who appeared for the test.

A total of 12,58,136 candidates appeared for Paper 1 (BE/ BTech) across different categories and genders. Among them, 4,24,810 were female candidates, with 1,59,378 from the General category, 44,762 from EWS, 40,282 from SC, 12,965 from ST, and 1,67,423 from OBC categories.

Male candidates accounted for 8,33,920, including 3,06,980 from General, 93,937 from EWS, 82,563 from SC, 26,994 from ST, and 3,22,851 from OBC.

Additionally, one candidates identified as third gender, was from OBC category.

The highest number of students appearing for the exam were from the OBC category (4,90,275), followed by General (4,66,358), EWS (1,38,699), SC (1,22,845), and ST (39,959).

JEE Main NTA scores are the normalised scores across multi-session papers and are based on the relative performance of all those who appeared for the examination in one session. The JEE Main 2025 marks obtained are converted into a scale ranging from 100 to 0 for each session of examinees. NTA score is not the same as the percentage of marks obtained. The NTA score of a candidate has been calculated as follows:

(100 X Number of candidates appeared in the ‘Session’ with raw score equal to less than the candidate) / Total number of candidates who appeared in the ‘Session’
