Belonging to Tentigaon, a village in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, Chirag Singh in Class 9 shifted to Lucknow in search for better educational opportunities. It was in Class 11 when he did coaching for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE). His hard work paid off as he cracked the JEE Main session 1 scoring 100 percentile. "I always had an interest in Physics, Maths and Chemistry and therefore decided to appear for JEE Main," said the 17-year-old boy. JEE Main 2025 January Session Result | Sai Manogna Guthikonda | Daksh | Arnav Singh | Om Prakash Behera | Harsh Jha | JEE Main 2025 Session 1 Answer Key Like other JEE aspirants, it was difficult for Chirag to manage time and work between coaching and school. "I used to go to school and during some arrangement periods, completed my coaching at Allen Online. My school was near my house so travelling was less and after lunch, I had the habit of completing my school assignments. My online coaching was between 4 pm and 8 pm and after that, I used to revise and complete coaching work," said the boy who has no social media accounts. To destress, Chirag used to spend time with his family, who also shifted to Lucknow with him. He often used to do cycling to relax himself. For him, Chemistry was difficult as it has more learning parts. Chirag wishes to pursue Computer Science Engineering from either the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay followed by Delhi and Kanpur. Following the trail of toppers, Chirag will also appear for the JEE April Session exam only to "improve his marks" despite scoring an NTA score of 100. "I am preparing for JEE Advanced properly, but sitting for the April exam might help me in improving marks," said Singh. This year, over 12.58 lakh candidates appeared for JEE Main with 14 candidates across the country scoring 100 NTA score. Of them, only one is female candidate. Five of these toppers are from Rajasthan, two each from Delhi and Uttar Pradesh and one each from Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Telangana and Maharashtra. They are Ayush Singhal, Rajit Gupta, Saksham Jindal, Arnav Singh and Om Prakash Behera from Rajasthan; Daksh and Harsh Jha from Delhi; Shreyas Lohiya and Sourav from Uttar Pradesh; Kushagra Gupta (Karnataka); Vishad Jain (Maharashtra); Shiven Vikas Toshniwal (Gujarat); Sai Manogna Guthikonda (Andhra Pradesh) and Bani Brata Majee (Telangana).
