JEE Main Session 4 Result LIVE Updates: National Testing Agency (NTA) on September 15 released the JEE Main Session 4 (May) results 2021. The students can check the results through the websites – nta.ac.in, ntaresults.nic.in, jeemain.nta.nic.in. 

A total of 44 candidates have scored 100 percentile in the JEE Main 2021, of which, 18 candidates have shared the top rank, Ministry of Education (MoE) officials told PTI on Tuesday midnight.

The first rank holders included Gaurab Das (Karnataka), Vaibhav Vishal (Bihar), Duggineni Venkata Paneesh (Andhra Pradesh), Siddhant Mukherjee, Anshul Verma and Mridul Agarwal (Rajasthan), Ruchir Bansal and Kavya Chopra (Delhi), Amaiya Singhal and Pal Agarwal (Uttar Pradesh), Komma Sharanya and Joysula Venkata Aditya (Telangana), Pasala Veera Siva, Karnam Lokesh and Kanchanapalli Rahul Naidu, (Andhra Pradesh), Pulkit Goyal (Punjab) and Guramrit Singh (Chandigarh).

The JEE Main result was expected to be announced on September 10 but was delayed. No clarification was issued by the NTA however, the JEE Advanced 2021 registration process was pushed ahead due to a delay in the JEE Main results, the official website read. 

The delay in JEE Main result is speculated to be a result of alleged JEE Main exam rigging. CBI on September 3 had arrested seven people in connection with a case of alleged rigging of (JEE) (Mains) examination this year. The CBI probe has found that the accused scouted for students willing to appear for the exams fraudulently. by paying between Rs 12 lakh and Rs 15 lakh.

Drop in number of JEE Main aspirants

According to the NTA, 9.39 lakh unique candidates appeared in all four sessions of JEE-Main held in February, March, July, August and September this year. In 2019 and 2020, when each candidate could take the test two times each, 11.47 lakh and 10.23 lakh candidates, respectively, had appeared. The best performance of a candidate, who has appeared in multiple sessions of the exam, is taken into account while tabulating the scores. Read more

What is JEE Advanced eligibility criteria?

Candidates should be among the top 2,50,000* successful candidates (including all categories) in B.E./B.Tech. paper of JEE (Main) 2021. Candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 1996. Five years of age relaxation is given to SC, ST and PwD candidates.

Number of attempts: A candidate can attempt JEE (Advanced) a maximum of two times in two consecutive years.

Educational qualification: A candidate should have appeared for the Class XII (or equivalent) examination for the first time in either 2020 or 2021 with the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics

What if you do not qualify for JEE Advanced?

Once the JEE Main result 2021 is declared, the top 2.5 lakh candidates will be able to register for JEE Advanced 2021. Those who won't qualify will go through the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA counselling 2021) for seats in other central institutions such as the National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) and other government-funded institutions.

Step 1: Visit the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in or ntaresults.nic.in

Step 2: Click on the “JEE Main 2021 session 4 results” link.

Step 3: Enter application number, date of birth, and security pin.

Step 4: Click on the “Submit” button.

Step 5: JEE Main result for session 4 will be displayed on the screen.

Step 6: Download the result and take a printout.

JEE Main 2021 Session 4 cut-off expected to be above 90%

The agency released the final answer key for JEE Main 2021 on September 8. The experts predict that due to the overall difficulty level, the cut-off for JEE Main will be above 90 per cent. The cut-off is being prepared considering various factors that affect the exam — the total number of aspirants who appeared, the number of available seats, the difficulty level of the exam, previous year cut-off trends.

Tie-breaking formula for JEE Main 2021

f two students get the same score, NTA will use a tie-breaking procedure to declare their ranks in JEE Main 2021. Here's the formula:

  • Candidates with higher marks in Mathematics will be prefered, followed by
  • NTA score in Physics, followed by
  • NTA score in Chemistry
  • If the tie remains, the candidate with a lesser ratio of negative to positive response will be preferred

IIT Kharagpur to conduct JEE Advanced

This year, IIT-Kharagpur is conducting the exam, which is the qualifying test for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). What is the JEE Main 2021 tie-breaker incase of same marks scored?

In case two or more candidates obtain the same score in paper 1 for B.Tech/ B.E, the NTA specified guidelines for inter-se merit will be applied where candidates with higher marks in maths, physics, chemistry and less negative responses will be considered for a higher ranking in the order specified. For B.Arch/ B.Plan, candidates with a higher score in maths followed by an aptitude test, drawing, less negative responses will be considered for a higher ranking.

In 2021, JEE Main conducted in four sessions for the first time

In 2021, the number of attempts was increased to a total of four. Earlier, students could appear for the engineering entrance test only twice. Students can now appear in JEE Main four times. Those who make it to the top 2.5 lakh of the JEE Main list will be shortlisted to appear for JEE Advanced 2021.

JEE Mains 2021 result to be declared soon

 National Testing Agency (NTA) will soon release the JEE Main Session 4 (May) result 2021. The result declaration has was delayed from September 10 due to unspecified reasons and it is likely to be announced tonight.

JEE Main result will mention details like the NTA percentile scores and all India rank of the candidates along with the JEE Main qualifying cut-off 2021. JEE Main 2021 exam was conducted in four sessions. The best of NTA JEE percentile scores from all the JEE Main sessions will be used to determine the candidate’s all-India rank.
