Under scanner for the cancellation of UGC NET and facing criticism over the NEET issue, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan Thursday said the ministry has been in regular contact with the Bihar Police with regard to the alleged paper leak of NEET UG 2024.

The Minister added that the enquiry conducted till now shows evidence of “errors in some regions”, and assured students that everyone involved in the security breach will be punished.

Pradhan announced the formation of a high level committee which will look into the matter as well as the functioning of the National Testing Agency (NTA).

Meanwhile, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered a case against unknown persons for “compromising the integrity” of the UGC-NET exam conducted on June 18.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, in a press conference, said the main reason for paper leaks is that educational institutions have been dominated by the BJP and its parent organisation RSS and paper leaks will not stop unless that is reversed. “They have hired vice-chancellors that follow RSS ideology and therefore, such mediocre people are running our institutions,” he said.
