As per the official brochure, this year there were 60 questions from each of four sections – physics, mathematics, chemistry, and biology. However, the total marks obtained were based on the best three sections performed by the candidates i.e. the total marks for the exam were 180 marks.

As per last year’s question paper, candidates were rewarded 2.5 marks for each correct answer and one mark was deducted for incorrect answer and no marks were deducted for unattempted questions.

Candidates are required to obtain more than section wise minimum admissible score (SMAS) in at least three section to be declared qualified along with minimum admissible percentile (MAP) to obtain their rank.

The final result is declared after taking into consideration and objections raised by the candidates after the release of the provisional answer key, for which candidates were provided time from July 5 and July 7.
