According to experts, the Physics part of JEE Main 2024 was of easy to moderate level in the morning shift.  Questions from mechanics, current electricity was duly represented in the paper. Most of the questions were asked from Class 11 syllabus, the expert added saying that previous year questions were also there in the paper.

In Chemistry, the questions from magnetic moment and atomic structure had come in the exam in the first shift of JEE Main 2024 exam day 1. Revise periodic table, integer type question, thermochemistry, kinetics before going for the exam, it suggested for the JEE Main aspirants left to appear for the exam in January 2024 session.

Aditya Nigam, who appeared in the session 2 exam from a centre in Meerut told indianexpress.com that the “difficulty level of Math was high as compared to Physics and Chemistry. Nearly five questions were tricky and that might affect overall percentage.”

JEE Advanced 2022

As per students associated with FIITJEE, the JEE Main 2024 paper in terms of order of difficulty -- Mathematics was moderate while physics was overall easy paper. This paper was of moderate level, the students added.

• Numerical based questions were easy.
• Few fact-based questions from class 12 chapters of NCERT were also asked.
• Students felt more weightage given to Class 12 chapters

As per the JEE Main analysis done by Ramesh Batlish, Head-FIITJEE, the chemistry paper was found to be easy to moderate. Organic chemistry was given more weightage compared to physical and inorganic chemistry. Questions asked from coordination compounds, atomic structure, chemical equilibrium, electrochemistry, general organic chemistry, biomolecules, amines, electrochemistry, mole concept, phenols, aryl and alkyl halides.

According to Ramesh Batlish, Head-FIITJEE, the numerical-based questions were found to be easy by the candidates taking the exam this morning.

Students who appeared for the JEE Main 2024 exam in the morning shift today did not find any errors in the JEE Main question papers.

In Chemistry, Motion Education expert said, questions from Magnetic Moment and Atomic Structure had come in the exam. Along with this, it is advisable to revise periodic table, Integer type question, Thermochemistry, Kinetics before going for the exam.

Compared to the previous year's examination, the Mathematics section presented a significant increase in difficulty. This suggests that students seeking optimal performance would benefit from prioritizing areas such as Probability and Combinatorics, Statistics, and Derivations.

As per JEE Main 2024 shift 1 session analysis done by  Nitin Viijay, Founder & CEO of Motion Education, the physics part was easy where more questions from Class 11 were asked. Apart from this, there were questions from momentum conservation, current electricity, electrostat potential. Also, in rotation, it is highly recommend to revise moment of inertia, the expert added.

Overall, the Aakash BYJU's expert noted, the JEE Main 2024 paper 1 in day 1 morning shift was a balanced paper which can be solved in the stipulated time. Average students, however, found the mathematics part difficult.

According to a large number of students, the Aakash BYJU’S expert said, the physics part was of easy level to moderate level. Questions from mechanics, current electricity was duly represented in the paper. Most of the questions were asked from Class 11 syllabus. PYQ were also there in the paper. Solving a good number of mock tests would prove to be an effective strategy, he added.

The paper was by and large based on NCERT books. Most of the questions were theoretical. A few questions were based on memory-based data and were confusing. Questions from prominent chapters like Chemical Kinetics, Biomolecules, Alcohol, Phenol and Ethers, Thermodynamics and Aldehyde, Ketone and Carboxylic Acids were asked. Overall coverage of the chapters was uniform.

The JEE Main paper 1 shift 2 begins at 3 pm.The exam will get over at 6 pm.

The JEE Main shift 2 exam will start at 3 pm. Students have started reporting to the exam centre. The candidates taking the JEE Main exam will not be allowed entry after the gate closing time.

Candidates were provided with choices in one section of each subject of paper 1. However, the total number of questions to be attempted will remain the same (physics – 25, chemistry – 25, and mathematics – 25).

The JEE Main 2024 shift 1 exam on the first day of BTech exam is over. Students had to drop their admit cards and other rough sheets at the drop box available at the exam centre.

The JEE Main answer key will be released after the exam is over on February 1. The jeemain.nta.ac.in will make the JEE Main 2024 answer key link active. Candidates taking the exam will also get the opportunity to raise objections against the answer key. 

The JEE Main 2024 exam analysis by experts and students taking the exam will be made available after the exam gets over for the morning shift at 12 noon.

The JEE Mains BTech paper will have multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and numerical value questions. Equal weightage will be given to mathematics, physics, and chemistry.

The first day of JEE Main paper 1 exam will get over at 12 noon. 

The candidates were earlier advised to register through DigiLocker/ABC ID. Those candidates who did not register through the DigiLocker / ABC ID or had chosen authentication through non-Aadhaar options will be required to report early on the JEE Main 2024 exam day. Candidates will have to reach the JEE Main 2024 exam centre at least one hour earlier to get their biometrics recorded.

– Keep your mind focused and do not take much stress.

– Revise what topics you are confident in and leave the rest.

– Do not even think that you are weak in other topics, just focus on what you know and excel in that.

– Make your own JEE Main strategy to write exam, which subjects you want to write first, with the subjects after that

– Lastly give as many sample tests as you can give to practice time management. Time management is very important for the exam. Sometimes you might also feel that you knew this question but there wasn’t time left so you couldn’t write that.

– Always find easy questions first and write those then you go for the other questions which you think you don’t know.

– One day before the exam don’t learn anything new.

– Keep your mind calm

– Do not take any stress and be confident

3. Additional photograph, to be pasted on the attendance sheet
4. Personal transparent water bottle
5. Sugar tablets/fruits (like banana/apple/orange) in case the candidate is diabetic
