
PSEB 10th Result 2019 HIGHLIGHTS: The results of the Punjab board PSEB Class 10 examination will be available at the official websites after 7 pm. This year, a total of 85.56 per cent students cleared the examination successfully, the results of which was declared on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at the PSEB office in Mohali. Neha Verma, a student of Teja Singh Sutantar school at Ludhiana has topped the class 10 examination, scoring 99.54 percent marks.

In the sports category, three students jointly secured the first rank with 100 per cent marks. Nandini Mahajan from Nangal Kotli Mandi, a village near Gurdaspur, Ritika from Ludhiana and Neeraj from Ludhiana secured the complete 650 marks out of 650.
Tamanna’s father runs a grocery shop in her native village Rurki Pukhta and mother is an Anganwadi worker. Tamanna is the only child of her parents.
The district topper told Chandigarh Newsline that she wanted to be an Indian Police Services (IPS) officer and in her next class she would pursue non-medical subjects.
As many as 18,006 students appeared in the board examinations of which 15,473 passed. Last year, 8917 students had appeared in the matriculation examination and 5969 of them passed.
This year as many as seven students of the district managed to make it to the merit list of 324 students who secured 97 per cent or more marks. Last year not a single students was on the list.
Tamanna secured 639 marks out of total 650. The second position was shared by Harpreet Kaur, Simran and Karan. The students secured 636 marks (97.85 per cent). The third position was shared by Karamjeet Singh of Baba Zorawar Singh Baba Fateh Singh Public High School Khijrabaad and Amandeep Kaur of Government Senior Secondary School in Bakarpur village. Both secured 97.54 per cent marks.
The students from Government Model Senior Secondary School in Kharar secured the first two positions in the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) class 10 results which came out on Wednesday.
Tamanna bagged the first position in the district by securing 98.31 per cent marks. The second position was also shared by three students of the same school who secured 97.85 per cent marks. Mohali district recorded 86.34 pass percentage, a significant improvement compared to the previous years— 66.94 per cent in 2018 and 44.73 per cent in 2017.

In the academic category merit list, the top three ranks were secured by Neha Verma with 99.54 per cent marks (647/650), followed by Harleen Kaur, Ankita Sachdeva and Anjali at second spot with 99.23 per cent (645/650) marks. The third rank is jointly secured by four students, namely Abhigyan Kumar, Khushpreet Kaur, Jia Nanda and Anisha Chopra with 99.08 per cent and 644 out of 650 marks.
In sports category Nandani Mahajan of Bal Vidya Mandir school, Nangal, Ritika of BMC School in Ludhiana and Neeraj Yadav of TSSSS, Ludhiana shared first position in the state with with 100 percent marks

In terms of region, students belonging to the rural area performed bettern than those in the urban. The urban region had a pass percentage of 83.38 per cent and rural had a pass percentage of 86.7 per cent. In rural areas 1.06 lakh appeared for PSEB class 10 exam and 89194 students passed the exam. While from rural area, 21.04 lakh appeared for the exam against with 1.82 lakh cleared the same.
The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB), which had announced the board results, noted that 40 per cent of the students who had appeared for the class 10 exams had failed while 18 per cent of the students, who failed in a single subject, will be appearing for compartment exams. Only 24 students from government schools, 6.33 per cent of the total number of government school students who appeared for the exams, managed to make it into the merit list of 379 students.
The results of PSEB Class 10 examination was declared Tuesday. This year, 89,000 students have flunked in English. The overall pass percentage recorded at 59.47 per cent.
85.56 per cent students cleared the Punjab PSEB 10th examinations. Last year it was only 57.50 percent.
