
TN +2 result 2019 HIGHLIGHTS: The Directorate of Government Exams (DGE), Tamil Nadu declared the result of Higher Secondary Examination (HSE) or plus two (class 12) result today on April 19, 2019 (Friday). The result was announced on scheduled time of 9:30 a, at the official website — tnresults.nic.in, dge.tn.nic.in and dge.tn.gov.in.
A total of 91.3 per cent students who appeared for the exams in March 2019 have cleared the same. In 2018, the overall pass percentage is 91.1 per cent. An increase of 0.2 per cent in pass percentage has been observed. Following previous trends, girls, once again, outperformed boys with 93.64 per cent girls passing the exam against 88.57 per cent boys.
In terms of streams, students from the science stream have shown the best result with 92.75 per cent. In commerce, 90.78 students passed while in Arts, 80.13 candidates cleared the exam. In 2018, the overall pass percentage for plus two or HSE exam of Tamil Nadu board was 91.1 per cent. Girls outperformed boys by registering 94.1 per cent while boys have scored 87.7 per cent. Every year, over 8 lakh candidates appear for the exam.
A total of 8,69,423 candidates had registered for the exam out of which 8,42,512 appeared. A total of 26,911 students missed the exam this year. In 2018, a total of 8,60,434 students appeared against 9,07,620 who had registered.

In case a candidate is not happy with their score they can ask for a copy of the answer sheet. For each subject, the candidate will have to pay Rs 275. Students can also ask for re-totalling of marks. In this case, for the subject in Life sciences, a fee of Rs 305 per subject will be applicable and for other subjects, the candidate will have to pay Rs 205.
Those candidates who could not qualify March 2019 exam can reappear in June 2019. A notification will be issued in this regard shortly, as per the TN Board. The DGE, Tamil Nadu has informed the prospective candidates that June 2019 exam for the second year will be held from June 6, 2019 till June 13, 2019. For the first year candidates, the exam in June 2019 will be held from June 14, 2019 till June 21, 2019
Despite the common notion that Mathematics is among the most difficult exams, Tamil Nadu class 12 students have shown a maximum pass percentage in the subject. This means the least number of students have flunked in mathematics.

Among districts, Thirupur is at 95.37 per cent, Erode at 95.23 per cent and Perambalur are at 95.15 per cent.

The Tamil Nadu Board has adopted a no-detention policy in 2018 for class 11 which enables a student who are unable to clear the exams to take the same later in Class 12.
Since 2018, the Tamil Nadu board has stopped 'advertising' or declaring the names of the top ranking students. Instead, it announced the city or district which registers the highest pass percentage. According to the DGE, the move is aimed to reduce the 'unhealthy' competition.
Among districts, the maximum number of regular candidates is from Malappuram – 58,465. As many as 490 students to appear for the examinations from the Gulf centres, 1,014 from Lakshadweep, and 709 from Mahe.
Reportedly, 4.5 lakh students appeared for the Plus Two examinations. While 3.73 lakh students are regular candidates, there are 60,561 open school and 25,857 private students who appeared for the exam. Further, 4.43 lakh students appeared for the first year examinations.
The result is announced within one month of the exam conclusion. As per the official website, the class 12 result will be declared today at 9:30 am while class 10 result is scheduled to be declared on April 29, 2019.

A total of 5059 schools had scored 100 per cent.

To get the result as an SMS result, candidates will have to register the mobile number at the official websites.
To check your score on the website, candidates would need roll number and date of birth. These will help them log-in. Since over 9 lakh candidates would be checking their results it is advised to keep the documents handy.
To pass the exams, students need to score a minimum of 30 marks out of 150 in theory examination and 40 marks out of 50 in practical exams, as per the rules.
The official time declared by the DGE is 9:30 but last year, the results were announced half-an-hour earlier than the scheduled time and a similar trend could be expected this year as well.
