JEE Main: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Ropar is one of the 23 IITs in the country and is amongst the top 30 colleges in the field of engineering as per the National Institutional Ranking Framework 2023. The institute has been in the 30-40 bracket amongst the overall ranking of higher educational institutions (HEIs) in the country.

Established in 2009, it is a second generation IIT. The institute offers BTech in Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Metallurgical and Materials Engineering; MTech in Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering; MSc in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and MS(R) in Computer Science and Engineering and Electrical Sciences. The institute also offers PhD courses as well as courses in Humanities and Social Sciences.
